Actually it is assumed that Westlife have separated several years ago. No - but have now, however.
They have released an official statement confirmed this, saying:
"After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one, 11 top 5 albums, seven of which hit the top spot and sold together more than 44 million copies around the world, selling 10 trips and many memories that will always appreciate, we announced our plan to split after Christmas has the largest collection of success and a farewell tour next year.
"This decision is completely amicable and having spent all our adult lives together in this moment, we have a rest and see the new company. We have seen the collection of the best hits and farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our extraordinary career with our fans. We are looking forward to quit the tour and see our fans the last time.
"Over the years Westlife have become a lot more to us than just a band. Westlife is a family. We would like to thank our fans who have been with us the wonderful journey that is part of our family too.
"We never imagined when we started in 1998 that 14 years later we are going to record, tour and have success together. It's a dream come true for us all. "
Oh yes, it is very sad is not it? Nothing is more heartbreaking ballad of children. Ashamed.
